Initiate scrivenings session from outliner

When using one editor in outliner mode with the option set to ‘automatically open selection in other editor pane’, it behaves almost totally like the binder.

This leads me to expect that a multiple selection in the outliner will initiate a scrivenings session in the other editor—but currently it just opens the last-selected doc there.

It would be great to have the option of being able to start a scrivenings session from the outliner.

Have you got scrivenings mode turned on in the second editor? That sounds as though it may be a bug in the Windows version, as on the Mac version, selecting multiple documents in the outliner or corkboard opens them in scrivenings mode in the other editor if that is the other editor’s group view mode.

I can’t find any way to have scrivenings mode turned on in the second editor while selecting multiple docs in the first editor’s outliner.

When the second editor is focused, the leftmost button of the three view options just shows a single sheet of paper, and the editor displays a single document, no matter how many docs are selected in the linked outliner.

Cheers,
David

Same behaviour from corkboard, but I’ve learned something new… didn’t know you could open docs in other editor from the corkboard. Great!

I’ve checked with the Windows team and this is indeed a known bug in the Windows version that is on the list for fixing (well, not quite a bug, but a limitation in the current version that will be removed in an update).

Good to know—thanks
