Whilst Scrivener is my go-to software on macOS it is NOT the only program that has this problem. Sitting under my browser as I type this is Apple Numbers where the tab names are the same size as the Inspector panel. The same with entries in iCal, Notes (an app I hate), Messages. Which means that @AmberV is right this is not a Scrivener-specific issue but a macOS one. Does that mean I’m going to switch to Windows and leave macOS behind? No way. There is much more wrong with Windows in my opinion that this imacOS issue. And for those occasions when the macOS’s GUI elements are too small I zoom in on the area (no idea why Zoom settings are hidden in the Accessibilty preferences).
Also this
exhibits the same problem. I have several other beefs with the Discourse GUI.
That’s right. Zooming can be the solution when you want to quickly enlarge something to see it better. For example, the search field. It’s just that it also enlarges everything else.
There is also an option in the accessibility menu to enable hover text (you can choose the font size in the options next to enable hover text) which will zoom on any text where the cursor is if you press the cmd key. This does not zoom the whole screen. Not a perfect solution to Steve’s problem but helpful until an alternative is found.
Good idea, but I just tried using a large menu bar and unfortunately it does not seem to affect the inspection panel font. (Yes I did log out and log in again).
