Yes! I can’t even get it to download after it accepted my credit card. The ABSOLUTE worst experience!!
Download what? The app? Meaning that you didn’t test the trial version extensively before you purchased?
Or do you not get the mail with the license code?
Are you trying to download via the Apple App Store, or from our site?
If the Apple Store, were you previously using our trial version? If so, you’ll need to remove the trial, as otherwise the App Store will think the software is already installed. (Your work is stored separately, and won’t be affected.) If that’s not it, you’ll need to contact Apple, as we have no control over the inner workings of the Store.
If you tried to download from our site, what happened?
(Also, I’m splitting this to a new thread, as the old one is so old that almost everything about installing Scrivener has changed.)
Hi Mary,
It looks like your license is for Windows but this thread is tagged for macOS. Are you on a Windows computer?
If so, it’s possible your computer is in S Mode or you may need to adjust to your settings to allow apps to be downloaded from anywhere, particularly if this is a new computer. If you’re on Windows 11, try Windows Settings > Apps > Advanced App Settings > Choose Where to get apps > Anywhere.
Another common and easy to resolve culprit is some browsers require you to verify the download before they’ll continue with it. There may be a dialogue box you need to click a confirmation button in before the download will proceed. Also, if you have a popup blocker, antivirus, etc. enabled, those tools can block downloads.
Feel free to email us for direct help as we’re limited in what we can do to assist with licensing on the forum.
Best,
Jen
