iOS: Option to suppress mobile data sync warning

Minor request: Allow option to disable cellular data warning popup

First off, I realize this popup might be imposed by Dropbox. If so then disregard / remove this request.

With that out of the way, it would be a nice refinement to have the option to turn off the cellular data warning when syncing. I realize the warning is there with the best intention but it would be nice for those of us with robust data allotments to not have to give the app permission.

The threshold seems to be around 15 MB, give or take? I hit that somewhat regularly as I often include a PDF (or photos) of handwritten notes in a new project. And these days I’ve got more cellular data than I can possibly use so it would be nice to simply have the option to disable the warning. (Or perhaps a solution would be to simply raise the threshold to a more likely anomalous level, like 250MB?)

Thanks. Enjoying the product quite a bit.

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words. You should already be able to turn this off. Please try the following:

  1. Go to Settings app.

  2. Scroll down to the Scrivener settings (if you don’t see any third-party settings, then quit and restart Settings - there’s an iOS bug whereby third-party settings disappear sometimes when you install a new app).

  3. In Scrivener’s settings, tap “Syncing & Sharing”.

  4. Under “Warn If No Wi-Fi” (which is set to “Over 10MB” by default), change it to “Never”.

That should do what you want. If not, let me know, because there must be a bug somewhere if you’ve already set this to “Never” but are still seeing the warning.

All the best,
Keith

Ah, of course. Thank you for the rapid response. I activated the feature and did some quick tests. Appears to work just as expected after syncing some 60MB test files.

Thanks again!
