Is it possible to sync iOS Scrivener with Obsidian?

could solve most of my problems…
thanks

Short answer… no.

Longer: There two apps use different document formats (Scriveners collection of RTF vs Obsidians markdown), so I’m not sure how that would work. While Scrivener can import Markdown, you’d have to export it to get it back into Obsidian… but there’s no simple, automated way of doing this that I’m aware of, and that’s before you even tackle the actual sychronisation aspect.

People use desktop Scrivener’s External Folder Sync to integrate Scrivener and Obsidian.

But iOS Scrivener does not have the External Folder Sync feature, so this integration with Obsidian is not possible if you’re only on the iOS platform.

Best,
Jim

the .md files is not a problem given the fact that you canen choose .md format in the settings…
and if I am not "only"on the iOS platform (ie: I am an happy Mac Scrivener user…)? any way?

See the link in my post above for further info for syncing from desktop Scriv. Also, see the manual for how to configure External Folder Sync.

I already do that, thanks! My fault… confusing explanation…
ok for the desktop sync!
The problem remains how to sync with obsidian in iOS?

You can’t. You can update the text in iOS Scriv, but to sync with Obsidian, you must do that back in desktop Scriv. Edit: I’m assuming here that you are using Dropbox to sync desktop and iOS Scriv.

yes I am using Dropbox to sync Scriv desktop and iOS Scriv; if one could use iCloud sync (Scrivener) with no problem it could be easier to sync with Obsidian…

The problem is the project format, not the sync mechanism. iOS Scrivener has no equivalent to the Sync with External Folder command, which is the only supported way to edit a Scrivener project other than with Scrivener itself.

Note that the “External Folder” can be resident in a synced location. And, precisely because it’s not a Scrivener project, it’s not limited to Dropbox.

actually sync between main Scriv and Obsidian is possible because of external folder

As Jim has pointed out, not on iOS
