FYI, Scrivener’s icon on the dock looks like this:

Yes
I saved the old icon and use that with the new version.
While likely a heretic, I like the new icon. I think it reflects hands-on writing.
Okay, I can appreciate the art, but it looks like an error. New user evaluating software: “Wow, they couldn’t get the icon right—what else is wrong with this software?”

What can I say? I thought it was an error. Not rude to pass that on.
I’m reminded of the time I was working for a software firm that moved to bigger offices. I walked into the new lobby with my team. One of my teammates remarked on how nice it was that the owner had put his personal art collection on display.
Me: Where?
Teammate (pointing): Right there.
Me: Oh. I thought that was an unfinished wall.
Just then a stranger walked by and gave me a big grin.
Teammate : And that was the owner…
You asked. You got an answer. The rude part is still calling it an error.
