Dear Scriveners,
I wonder if there is a way to perform a word count for highlighted text? I can see the word count for the whole document at the bottom of the pane, but it would be very helpful to be able to get a word count for highlighted text only (like you can in Word).
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated,

Highlight the section of text you want. Right click and a menu appears. At the bottom of the menu is the word count for the highlighted text.

If you mean “highlighted” as in selected text in the editor, once a selection is made, the number of words selected is shown at the bottom of the editor.
But if you mean “highlighted” as in yellow, pink or green or …
Yes, it can be done.
Let us know if that’s the case. We’ll then explain. (It is a tad more complex.)
