Is there a way to put footnote number in front of period?

Hello,
This is a huge one for me. In my PhD there is a clear requirement to have numbers of footnotes before the period that is ending the sentence. is there a way to do that?

Hi.

Yes there is. In Preferences, select Formatting. Near the bottom of the screen is a box to select “Terminate footnotes and comments before punctuation”.
