Issue with Scapple resizing on different monitor resolutions

Hello I seem to be having a massive issue with Scapple not scaling right on my 4k monitor. The only temporary fix i have come up with is to move it to another monitor i have that is not 4k and move it back a few times till things look better then they do. The UI elements get really small to the point its hard to see.

I hope this can get fixed for the windows version soon. I also wished there was a UI file i could just edit it to find a way to keep its scaling but i could not find a way.

If you’re referring to switching between monitors with different scaling, the way to do it is to maximise a window and use Win+Shift+L or the R Arrow key.

That said, dragging from a 1080p display to a 4k display, you’d normally get massive text and tiny text when dragging back to the 1080p display, unless you use the solution in paragraph 1.

Yea i have not tried the Win+Shift+L or R key’s but i hope it works but what i wish it could do is have a UI scaler feature to go into the tools or window option and chose a UI scale % to make things easier. I know some people might see this as a useless feature but it would help. Because there are times i will load it on the 4k screen and the whole UI from top to side bar text and all are so small and cant be resized.

Don’t forget it only works if you’re in full screen mode. So maximise before you switch, if you work with smaller or split panes.

The only thing that doesn’t render properly between screens is the drop-down arrows on the menu items. It’s a minor visual/selection inconvenience.

Don’t know if the developer should look into that aspect or if the deficiency lies in the Qt framework on which Scrivener for Windows is developed.

It would be great if they could address these issues while also adding a feature to better organize writing projects. For example, when working on a book, it would be incredibly useful to group sections or chapters within a structured, collapsible container. Imagine having “Chapter One” as a main note, with nested parts like “Part 1/10” inside it that you can expand or collapse as needed.

This kind of feature would make it much easier to keep everything organized and manageable, especially for larger projects. Ideally, it would also integrate smoothly with the arrow/navigation system, allowing users to quickly group selected notes under a parent item (such as a chapter) and toggle them open or closed. That level of organization would significantly improve the overall experience.

If they added this plus the fixes that need it i would honestly be extremely happy with Scapple as is and not ask for anything more other then bug fixes and such.

I’m not clear on how this would differ from Scrivener.

Or, to put this another way: Since Scrivener already has that ability, I don’t imagine our developers would duplicate it in Scapple. Scapple’s design is around roughing out some ideas, similar to working on a large piece of butcher paper or a whiteboard.

Then, those notes can be brought into Scrivener, our outliner-based program, to be flushed out into a manuscript draft.

I can fully see that i mean i kind of got scapple so that i can write out the rough ideas like a whiteboard but lead them into parts and work out the structure first then at some point bring them into Scrivener. I like using Scapple for this because it is basic and helps my ADHD not go into over drive with so many things on screen.

I just make cards with arrows and go from there like a story board then overtime transfer them over to Scrivener. I guess what i am asking for is a nitpicky sort of thing and while it would be nice i can see that a similar sort of thing can be done in Scrivener.

Look at simple mind pro. Free trial and one time fee. Big plus is can hide text on mind map till need it. So would be easy to have compact notes hiding large amounts of text. Can set up intra mind map links as well and label arrows and change colors.
