Keep Quick Reference open

I use the Quick Reference feature a lot on the iPad to have two documents open at once. However, it is very frustrating that every time I switch to another app, or my device turns off, the quick reference document closes. Would it be possible to change this behaviour so that the chosen view remains? Thank you.

Well, on this it might be useful to realize how much the iPad interface expects you to have your fingers in it, from early days to the present.

A prime example: touch Search on the App Store, and the cursor does not move to the form item where you will need to type.

For the Quick reference, a quick thumb on the title at top of the left-hand items will get you there in a hurry, and then the same thumb can tap the one you want.

These days, now that many use keyboards with iPads, hot keys are in use. One could certainly be provided for Quick Reference, and even possibly numerals to use for selecting one of the references – this could be a good feature suggestion??

I’ve filed this as a bug, because in testing it I came across some other issues as well. For instance if you are viewing a corkboard and switch over to a reference tool to check something, then back to Scrivener, the corkboard will be lost as well as the quick reference selection. I feel like this used to work better, but I don’t use an iPad really, so I could be wrong.

Ideally, for such a minor event as quickly cmd-tabbing (which is a thing if you have a keyboard, but the gesture should be the same) back and forth between things shouldn’t disrupt what you are doing and make you set things up again, every single time.
