Keeping scene headings attached to scenes

How do I keep the scene heading from ending up by itself at the bottom of a page?

Apply the Keep with Next attribute.

To do that in Script Mode:

Go to Format → Scriptwriting → Script Settings.
Select Scene Headings from the list on the left, then the Paragraph tab.
Click the Options button at the bottom right, below the tab and indent settings.
Check the box to Keep with Next Paragraph.

Thank you!

It was already checked, but I deleted the scene heading and typed it again and it fixed the issue.

Is there a way to do this with slug lines that aren’t scene headings? (I.e. you don’t want them separated by an extra line)

*Never mind. Just created a new element called “Slug.” Thanks again.

Okay, this still isn’t working for me. The “Keep with Next” box was already checked and that isn’t solving things. As it turns out, anytime the issue comes up, all I have to do is delete the scene heading completely and do it over again and for some reason that fixes the issue. But that obviously isn’t a good solution as I’m constantly editing and can’t be checking the entire script every time to find these problems.

*In fact, all I have to do is switch the element to “Action” then switch it back to “Scene Heading” and it will obey the “Keep with next” property.

It sounds like we need to take a look at the project. Please open a support ticket, here:

You can email a project by using the File → Backup → Backup To command, and checking the box to create a ZIP backup.

I have discovered that the problem only exists because I dragged the scene from one project to another. The original project was not created from a screenplay template. I just emailed you the project to examine. Obviously, I don’t want to have to type the whole screenplay over again in a screenplay template to fix this, so hopefully something can be done.
