Kerning disabled when exporting to .rtf or .docx

When compiling, some (all?) of the font styles seem to disable “Kerning for fonts” property. This is particularly troublesome when the kerning is needed for specific fonts, say, Cinzel Decorative where the “oo” ligatures are interlocking. I have to open Word, select all by style, right-click → Font → Advanced, then check “Kerning for fonts”. Every time I compile. As far as I can tell, this fine when compiling to PDF directly, as it does kerning properly. However, opening the .docx and exporting to PDF breaks, because the font kerning is disabled at the style level.

Thanks,
JH

Further details. Word in Compatibility Mode will always fail to use kerning tables properly for some TTF font files. Cinzel Decorative is one of those. You have to switch it to non-compatibility mode (File → Info → Convert) then modify the font Style that is problematic by enabling kerning. Then it looks right. Super frustrating trying to discover this.
