What might be possible reasons for the alert “KindleGen failed to generate a .mobi file at the expected location”?
I’ve successfully compiled my epub and pdf, but find no discussion online concerning this issue.
Not to answer the question, but why would you want to bother generating a .mobi.
Amazon no longer want submission of .mobi files.
You might see if this Knowledge Base article on legacy ePub 2 and .mobi formats helps resolve this issue.
Also, do you have Kindle Previewer 3 installed? You can get it here.
It can convert the ePub3 files to .mobi if needed.
