Languages?

Ouch, 2007. Only five years… We’re looking at all the options on the best way of going about it. The text base in Scrivener is huge, so setting it up right is important.

Not that you need me to, but I can confirm this. It’s way larger than you’d think from looking at the “visible” interface. The sheer number of additional dialogue pop-ups and error messages etc are astounding. And that’s just with the Windows feature set.

Any news about the german translation in the mac version?

We are severely lagging behind Windows with translating the interface, sorry! The truth is, translating Scrivener on the Mac is much more difficult than on Windows using Qt. I recently purchased what looked to be a great solution, TraductoPro ( traductoapp.com ) only to find that it is not yet ready to handle projects as large as Scrivener - the entire app hangs when trying to process the sheer volume of text that needs translating inside Scrivener. So, it looks like we’re going to have to do it the old-fashioned, painful way.

This is definitely on the roadmap for this year, though.

All the best,
Keith

I can assist you with the Russian.

Why not Snipchen? Eng. “snip” seems to come from Dutch or Low German “snippen”, “to snip, to shred”, and the Eng. ending “et” is a diminutive.

Can we then also expect better language settings per project, like with the spell check?

Anything new with the translations?
I’d like to use the translations at least for my own use, to get my bearings faster. If you are interested I will make it available.
