Suddenly all of my latest prpjects have disa[eared from the ‘latest projects’ menu in the dropdown menu bar. I thought it might be related to installing Sequoia but although I’ve done a restart they’re still not popping up. This means I have to look for each project separately instead of using the menu. Is there a reason and/or a fix?
Guys the very act of posting gave me an idea and I’ve solved the issue. It was due to a new folder app that someone had given me to trial and it was interfering with Scrivener’s own save process.
That utility incidentally may interfere with everything, depending on how it works, as Scrivener’s recent project list is managed entirely by the operating system (so yeah, sometimes a big upgrade can reset them, but this is not typical as it does store those lists into each program’s settings).
If they do get reset for some reason though, yes, you have to track things down and load them at least once, then they should be listed again.
Consider using the “Favorite Projects” setting in the File menu for stuff you really always want to have at your fingertips. “Recents” come and go, but that list is managed separately by Scrivener and shouldn’t get “confused”, even across re-installation or resetting preferences.
It was definitely the folder app that interfered with Scrivener, but even when I opened the project again it didn’t reappear in Recent Projcts. I was only trialling the app and it didn’t have great functionality so it’s no loss not to use it. But I’ll use the Favourites to keep track of projects in future anyway
