Lockable or fill-able form like folder Templates

When using a template in a subdocument or folder you can accidentally change the template. Can Scrivener be updated to make the subdocument Template more like a fill-able form?

We make our template, then once using it as a subdocument, the headings made in the Template can not be changed while adding information to the subdocument.

I saw this was asked for years ago, but it is still very much needed for efficiency of using templates.

Okay, my eyesight is starting to have problems… my health is starting to fail in general, and I simply am looking for a means to have some labels or structures I can’t accidentally mess up in templates with a mis-click or too many delete presses, and have to waste my time and have more stress redoing over again fiddling with formatting, and I know, “locking text in any way might run the risk of bug reports” but is there any way at all I can manage this in program or any chance a feature might get added eventually?

You can make almost anything into a template. Here is an example of my character table. I give examples of how it appears at 150% zoom, then 200%, and finally 300% zoom. Increasing the zoom on your documents is the easiest way to compensate for the poor eyesight. If you can be more specific, I am not sure what you are looking for?

I’m looking for early exactly that sort of thing, but specifically, where if I accidentally click on a label, (such as Hair face, ect it that lowest example), or hit delete too many times, it won’t delete the labels, and/or where using tab navigation won’t create extra boxes.
I attempted using tables, but both the misclick and Tab problem persisted with the labels. I also attempted to use PDF with form fillable in Libre, and exporting, but when I used it as a template file the edits would not save in the fillable forums. As far as I could find, there was no way to prevent the labels or markers from being unintentionally editable on individual sheets.

Two suggestions. Create the form the way you want and save as document template. Then when use it use snapshots and the undo function to save you from mistakes. Every time an entry save a snapshot, Now as go along delete the older ones. This way if mess (f… up) up you can go back to earlier snapshot and start again.
Second point increase form zoom to 300% or so so easier to see and navigate around and reduce zoom when finished filling out.
Again not aware of way to prevent either unless print form fill out by hand and scan and save as pdf.
Give the snapshots a try, can always jump back to previous one if undo does not work. As long as stay in the form you are editing can do multiple undo steps to fix a mistype.

I save all my templates in their own Template Project, so always have a pristine copy of the templates I slaved over to get the way I want.

I do thank you for the suggestions, but to be entirely honest it sounds very much like an infuriating workaround, and to the point where it would be easier to use external software to manage, which does make it more difficult to manage, especially in terms of linking. But given the design philosophy and the current options given, there doesn’t seem to be a means of doing this which isn’t an irksome workaround that adds a notable amount strain and difficulty to the process, hence the feature suggestion.
