Losing my ruler format (first line indent) after lists or other subtle movements

FIrst of all i love the first line indent. I can start a note and do the shortcut for Heading 1. I type and hit return and my first line is indented. I can then right a paragraph and my first line is indented automatically. In the ruler it looks like a T.

My problem is that there are things I can do.

Specific example:

  • Start a list (and why no shortcut for a list?)
    • carriage return…new list item
  • But when i exit the list with repeated carriage return
  • I lose my first line indent!!!
  • why?
  • how do i change my workflow to have it behave like it does when leaving a HEADING.

I love scrivener but man…some of the little things. I guess it just requires patience. This forum always answers my questions so that helps.

You could have your indent in the Default Formatting, and create a FirstParagraph Style with no indent. After lists you’ll have apply the FirstParagraph-style.
