I used the trial of Scrivener years ago and have been wanting to use it full time now. The problem is that I use a Mac at home and a Chromebook when I’m out and about writing at coffeeshops. I’d say it’s 50/50. Can I use Scrivener to write the same project on both computers? Will I have to pay for both?
I currently use Google docs. It works great for this but I’m having trouble staying organized.
There is a version of CrossOver for Chromebooks. CrossOver is a paid-for front end GUI to Wine which runs Windows apps without having Windows installed.
I have used the Mac version of CrossOver to run Windows Scrivener to be able to help my Windows-using collaborator. The only thing that has taken up time and patience is getting a viable version of .Net to run in order to activate the licence on Paddle. Apart from that, no problem.
That said, I’ve never tried the ChromeOS version, so can’t say if there are any problems with it and Scrivener for Windows, or whether there might be processor issues. I also don’t know if there is a version of plain Wine for ChromeOS, though it will be free if there is though requiring rather more geekiness to work with.

Since you’ll need a separate Scrivener (for Windows) license for your Chromebook, yes. The alternative would be to remote access your home Mac. Which would probably be less taxing on battery life, but require a constant and decent Internet connection.
