This is a report only. No additional support needed.
In the rightmost pane of the three-pane compile dialog box, the icons in the rightmost pane are drawn too low and appear over the list of documents, and cannot be accessed. The filter icon and the popup are also frozen.
Thanks for the report! For layout glitches like this, we usually wait until later in the summer as sometimes Apple fixes whatever went wrong, but I’ve put a reminder on this to check again later.
P.S. New accounts can’t edit posts after a fairly short interval, it’s a spam protection measure as a common tactic is to post something innocuous and then inject a bunch of casino links or whatever a few days later, once nobody is looking any more. As you browse and post more, you’ll find you can edit more freely.
Thank you for passing this along. We’ll file it on our list of potential issues.
Please be aware, though, that we typically wait to release compatibility updates until the official Mac OS release. There’s no point trying to keep up with beta bugs that Apple will (hopefully) fix.
As always, we do not recommend using beta software (either Apple’s or ours) in production situations.
Scrivener V3.4 mostly works in the Tahoe public beta, but the Compile dialog is really broken. The global compile options icons are displaced, and the whole right side is not accessible to the mouse, clicks do not register. You can use tab to select items but for example the replacements never show even when you use the keyboard to highlight and select it.
So beware for anyone considering trying out the public beta…
Hm, that’s strange. My build is 26.0 Beta (25A5316i). I can select the compile formats on the left and the top menu just fine, I can also toggle docs on the right side, but cannot select front or back matter and my section layouts are missing. The video shows me clicking various parts of the dialog then using [tab] to show elements that are not properly placed:
I can’t think of any software that could cause different drawing of the UI like this, I’ll try exiting better touch tool and alfred just in case…
I really doubt it’s a conflict. I’ve seen this since it was initially reported, first beta, and that partition has nothing else installed or running other than our software and system.
I’ve gone back in and tried more output options and it doesn’t seem consistent. Some I can select everything, inc F/B Matter, others not everything.
I’ll try put aside some time in the next day or so to have a more in depth play.
That’s good to hear! I’ll have to reboot later, and hope that they fixed the issue whereby if you install from a standalone copy it never registers itself to the beta feed and you have to keep downloading updaters by hand.
The dialog is still as broken for me in Public beta 2 (26.0 Beta (25A5327h)) as it was previously No Section Layouts, the icons on the right for global compiler pane switching still hovering and not accessible etc.
Got around to a longer play. Those icons were hidden by default on my screen and I overlooked them in the quick play. I’m getting the same result as you on them.
With the test project my defaults were already set. I can select and deselect chapters and sections, but the front matter that was preselected could not be changed. The compile does work with the default selections.
Latest Beta 7 (development) update: no change. The Compile for popup is functional, but the grey region that surrounds the Compile popup menu in the rightmost pane is not clickable. The buttons are mis-aligned and non functional, same with the Compile menu and the filter button next to it. Items in the list are selectable.
I’m on the version from the above channels that reports as a full (non-beta) Tahoe, though it’s likely the RC and could conceivably have changes between now and the public release on the 15th
