Margin error when Opening Composition Mode more than once

I’m getting an error in Composition Mode where the right edge of the document gets cut off. It lets me scroll left and right in Composition Mode, and every time I get to a new line it jumps all the way to the right again. It seems like the document width is expanding past the boundary of the visible “page.”
This only happens when I close composition mode and then reopen it. Changing the text scale or paper width doesn’t help at all. I get the same issue whether I’m selecting multiple documents or just one. I tried changing the margins in settings, and that didn’t help either. Restarting scrivener then opening composition mode works, but its a little tedious for something so simple.

Is there anything else I can try to fix this? Maybe I’m doing something wrong on my end.

Version of Scrivener? Version of Mac OS?

mac OS Sonoma Ver. 14.6.1
Scrivener 3.5.2

Sonoma is up to 14.8.5. Wouldn’t hurt to try updating. We use the Mac OS tools for almost everything related to drawing stuff on the screen.

updated last night. haven’t encountered the exact same issue today (nothing has gotten cut off yet), but composition mode is still “horizontally unlocking” on subsequent opens, letting me scroll left and right

Do you have any tables in the text? Especially if they’re bigger than the display “paper,” Scrivener might need to scroll to show the whole thing.

The View → Text Editing → Show Invisibles setting can be helpful in this situation.

I don’t have any tables in the text. Turning on invisibles doesn’t reveal anything that looks like it should be a problem either.

It has also continued to cut off the text. It looks like the first couple opens of composition mode “unlock” scrolling, and then eventually opening it begins to cut off text.

I’m still encountering this error. Is it a known issue?

No, it is not. Please open a support ticket, here:
