Saludos y buena escritura.

For those of us who only wish we could read Castilian Spanish, a Google translation:

Hello, I am starting my doctoral thesis and due to the magnitude of the work I decided to do it at scrivener.
The first thing to know the program.
For that, YouTube videos are generally very good and there are them in Castilian, Spanish, I don’t have a particular recommendation on this. In addition, the videos on the same scrivener page, although they are in English, I think they are clear.
Among the pros of the program, I think the way to organize and plan the work is its greatest strength.
With a bit of research I managed to put together the framework for the job.
An important point is being able to insert the sources in the same work. What did I do? First, I put together the general structure, that is, the thick index in folders, then I copied the research folders, and there I uploaded the main sources, the central papers for each topic.
Disappointing, difficult integration with Zotero.
In that sense, it’s easier to work with Bookends, I made the change… well for now I’m with both… that’s been the cost.
So far I am very happy, since there are not many entries here in Spanish, Castilian, I decided to start this one.
I look forward to making updates.
Greetings and good writing.

The three weak points, still present for writers in Spanish and other languages, are:

  1. Improvable interface translation. Some options are only displayed in English or have a poor or meaningless translation.

  2. Scrivener lacks templates translated into at least the major languages. Likewise, the user manual is only in English. Yes. It is obvious that those of us here get by with English (more or less) and that there are very powerful technologies, but the work of a translator / native translation is irreplaceable (for now).

  3. Certain functions, dependent on Apple or not, are not integrated enough or not functional at all in languages other than English (as I have read comments), such as the case of “Linguistic focus”.

EXTRA: No linux version, although that could change if more Linux users show interest in Scrivener.

Regards.
