The minimum number of backups is now three. Would love to see the option for two and one as well.
Reason: the space projects take on my disks and my cloud service.
With Time Machine I already have previous versions when I might need them.
It’s possible to disable automatic backups altogether, either on a per project basis (Project → Project Settings → Backup) or overall (Scrivener → Preferences → Backups). Obviously you should make sure you have a trustworthy alternative before you do this.
If you do disable automatic backups, you can make a manual backup at any time with the File → backup → Backup Now command.
This isn’t a comment on the wish list item. Hopefully, the OP and everyone else are consistently practicing extensive backup strategies.
