When I click outline view none of the sibling text files are showing, only their titles.
When I try to compile for export (i’ve tried several formats) I only get ‘no synopsis’ where the text should be.
What I am doing wrong?
Have you entered a synopsis for these documents in the index card in the inspector, or in corkboard or outline view? The main text isn’t shown in the synopsis area; you have to enter a synopsis yourself (or auto-generate it).

The problem is that I just want to compile the entire text without using the synopsis function. Is there a setting I am missing in the compile setup that would impact whether or not the main files are included? (latest ver 2.2)
What compile preset are you using (under “Format As”). You must have synopses turned on for including in the “Formatting” pane:
You’ll want to un-tick the boxes under “Synopsis”.
