more flexibility in pane widths?

Hello. I’m yet another of your many fans absolutely loving scrivener 3! Thanks so much.
A small suggestion that I would like to see if possible:
Could you give us more flexibility in both the overall width of the window and the relative widths of the various panes (binder, editor, inspector)?
I often like to use scrivener in conjunction with other programs (esp if I have taken notes elsewhere and want to incorporate them into my draft). So sometimes I’d like to be able to make the overall window temporarily shrink down to half or third of the screen (I realise that involves some compromises, but it is only temporary, and also has some advantages). Currently it seems impossible to shrink it to less than about two-thirds of the screen?
Also sometimes I like to work mainly with the binder, so it would be nice if the binder pane could grow to half (or more!) of the window, even when the window is less than full screen. Currently it seems to be able to grow to half (max) in full screen, but is severely curtailed when the window is less than full screen.
Hope this makes sense - and that I have not missed something obvious!

Some ideas in these threads:

There are certain necessary limitations on how much UI elements can be expanded or shrunk because otherwise UI elements can start getting corrupted. So, for instance, there is in fact no hard limit on how wide the binder can be expanded - but there is a minimum width for other UI elements such as the editor and inspector, beyond which those elements would “break” (buttons would move to wrong places, drawing artefacts would appear).

For 3.0.1, you will be able to reduce the width of the window further, though.

All the best,
Keith

Tremendous - that amount of flexibility in pane widths suits me perfectly. Thanks Keith!

Bridey - thanks for the links. Sorry I missed them - I did do some searching before posting my request but must have used the wrong key words or something because I found only old and partially-relevant posts.
Amber’s idea would have made a good workaround, but luckily for me, the change in 3.0.1 makes the default behaviour ideal for me.

Nothing to be sorry for.

Like 3.0.1’s tweaks.

Merry Xmas
