More text change tracking abilities

More text change tracking, like what MS Word has so projects can be handed off to editors. They make changes and add comments to both the changes and to any general areas of the text, and hands it back to the Author.

The Author makes changes, taking into consideration comments from the editor. Parts of the text that are deleted are automatically noted in Tracking Text Changes Mode, same thing for additions. Then once again hands the revised project back to an editor. Saving the Final document automatically as “PROJECT TITLE Rev 2”. Specifically adding the “Rev 2” at the end of the project title, when you are in Tracking Text Changes Mode.

Scrivener for Mac has a “Compare” feature, which can show the differences between a document and one of its snapshots. This will be coming to the Windows version eventually. Full Track Changes is unlikely to come to Scrivener, at least in the mid-term, though. It is an insanely complicated feature (from a technical standpoint), and we do not have the resources of Microsoft - they have whole teams of developers, where we have one developer on the Mac version and two on the Windows version.

All the best,
Keith
