Multi-clicker in Compile

You know when you’ve got a million stories or chapters in one file, and you want to compile just one of these into, say, a Word document? At the moment, you have to un-select all the other check boxes. And if you then later want to compile the whole thing, you have to check them all again.

It would be great to have a “select all/select none” checkbox at the top (as in Mailplane’s mail view, for instance).

Hi,

You can actually do this in two ways already:

  1. Option-click onto any of the checkboxes. This will cause all of the other checkboxes to take on its new value too. This works in both the Compile contents area and in the outliner (there is a note to this effect under the contents table in Compile - it says “Opt-click to select or deselect all”).

  2. Alternatively, if your chapter or story is contained in a subfolder within the Draft/Manuscript folder, you can just choose to compile only that folder from the pop-up button above the contents table:

Hope that helps.

All the best,
Keith

Oh, that’s excellent! Thank you!
