multimarkdown compile compiling heading 6 with just five hashtags...

Here are the steps I use to recreate what appears to be a bug <but could be operator error?>

∞1command + option + e > compile for multimarkdown
∞2 contextual menu > edit format… > section layouts
heading 1 > title options > number of hashes: “1” from pick list = “# Section Title #”
» and exports into 3rd party text editor (text wrangler) as “#Section Title #”

heading 2 > title options > number of hashes: “2” from pick list = “## Section Title ##”
» and exports into 3rd party text editor (text wrangler) as “##Section Title ##”

heading 3 > title options > number of hashes: “3” from pick list = “### Section Title ###”
» and exports into 3rd party text editor (text wrangler) as “###Section Title ###”

heading 4 > title options > number of hashes: “4” from pick list = “#### Section Title ####”
» and exports into 3rd party text editor (text wrangler) as “####Section Title ####”

heading 5 > title options > number of hashes: “5” from pick list = “##### Section Title #####”
» and exports into 3rd party text editor (text wrangler) as “#####Section Title #%###”

heading 6 > title options > number of hashes: “6” from pick list = “###### Section Title ######”
» and exports into 3rd party text editor (text wrangler) as “#####Section Title #%###”
please note that while set up correctly (heading 6 getting 6 #'s) the compiled output produces only 5 #'s

more data needed? more help offered…

Yeah, I think I might need a few more clues here. Which did you start with? I can’t think of anything we’re providing that would break things down by level like that. The stock “Basic MultiMarkdown” format for example uses a simple “Heading” section that makes use of the dynamic outline level = hash level capability.

At any rate, going from that as a basis, I manually created six different layout designs and chose a specific hash setting for each, as described. I don’t myself get the same results you do though at any level. For example you refer to getting “#Section Title #” at level one, but I get “# Section Title #”.

Well, one thing that might help: open up compile, select the format you’re working on, right-click and choose “Export Format…”. Zip archive the exported file and attach it to your response. I can then load that in and have a look at the settings directly.

HI Amber,
Well, one thing leads to another » see attachments as to why I can not presently attach the requested export file…
» let me know how I can get the requested file to you…
as to your questions…

Formats > basic formats > “compile for MultiMarkdown” in the popup list at the top of the window.
then at edit>format > sections layout I created six headings, (heading 1 - heading 6)

are you referring to the the spaces between the hashtags and the words? It appears I did not put them back the way they should be after I was done regrouping in this area discovering how to insert order list numbers, etc…

for the record, I understand that this ‘madness’ I’m experiencing is mostly generated by me, it’s an unavoidable offshoot of how numbers and letters register in my brain » thanks for you hanging in here with me…

for clarification: I believe the extra space between hashtag and word was my poor typing in the forum skills

I’ve gone back into the compile > section layouts section and all 6 headings are presenting with appropriate hashtag(s) + space before the first word and appropriate space + hashtag(s) in the ‘formatting’ pane…

amber » I found what I had done wrong » I had the sixth level folder (I’m using folders for section titles) in the binder incorrectly positioned at the fifth level » once I indented it another layer » all worked just fine » sorry for al the hub bub…
