Multiple languages in one document

I have just downloaded a trial version, and will probably buy a license anyway as I really like the program. There is only one thing that would make it next to perfect for me and that is the ability to use different language dictionaries in different parts of the text. Nisus Express is my main word processor and they do it brilliantly there. I assume there is no way of doing this at the moment with Scrivener?

I’m afraid in Scrivener I just provide the standard OS X way of accessing dictionaries - which is to say, I do nothing at all, and just rely on the general Apple text system.

Wow, very fast reply! As I understand it, Nisus does the same (they also use the general Apple text system), but you can have the spellchecker use a different dictionary on different parts of the text. You select the text and then pick the language from a menu. I imagine this is not that important to most people – I am a Russian student and frequently have to switch between languages in one text. I guess I’ll have to continue with Nisus for that and use your excellent Scrivener for other things

Yeah, Nisus is pretty specialised in many ways. They do use the OS X text system, but they customise it in a lot of ways. They also happen to be amazing in terms of support. I have nothing but praise for Martin of Nisus, and would recommend Nisus as the word processor of choice to any Scrivener user without hesitation.

Hear, hear!
