My Scrivener will not Open

Hi everyone,
As i reported yesterday, when I tried to open Scrivener, it said it was damaged and I needed to download it again. I found that I purchased it from AppStore, but when I went to download it it said: Scrivener needs to be updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of MacOS. Contact the developer for more information.

Is here where I can speak with the developer?

I am now on Macbook Pro Ventura 13.7.2

Thank you

Hi faucetmusic. It sounds like you might have purchased Scrivener 2 for Mac OS X from the App Store. Its logo looks like this:

If that’s the version you had, you’ll need to upgrade to Scrivener 3 for macOS.

Scrivener 2 for Mac OS X is a 32-bit program that worked on the older operating systems from Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks to macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

Apple discontinued all support for 32-bit software when they released MacOS 10.15 Catalina.

We have this webpage explaining how your Mac App Store purchase can qualify a discount.

You’ll want to review the text in the tan-colored box at the bottom of that page. You can then forward your Scrivener 2 proof of purchase to sales@literatureandlatte.com.

I also recommend starting with the trial of Scrivener 3 to make sure upgrading is the right choice. You can download the Scrivener 3 for macOS from our main downloads webpage.
