Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1, Scrivener 3.3.6. Are there more name lists available for Name Generator? I love Scrivener and I love the idea of the Name Generator, but frankly, I find it easier to do an internet search since the Name Generator includes so few categories. (Catalan and Finnish but not French? No Spanish? Male German but not female?) And adding lists with details is pretty cumbersome compared to typing “Female German baby name 1902” into an internet search bar. I have read manual and forum posts. Several suggestions not available in Scrivener 3.3.6 (e.g. no legacy names under + sign). Anyone know of premade list collections? Thanks.
I’m not aware of a repository. If it helps, I posted some lists for German names over here: Name generator in trial version: Can I get a German surname list? - #2 by dirkhaun
Thanks. The name generator seems pretty limited. If I have to make my own list I may as well go to google. Thanks again.
I have the windows version which has a large number of legacy lists that can be added to name generator. In windows can add legacy names. If Mac does not have I could send the windows legacy lists.
Yes that would be a help. Scrivener is not showing the legacy names. In fact, when I click the plus button, it shows nothing to import, and wants me to find a file to import on my computer, presumably a csv file I have constructed. Thanks. My email is virginiasmoe@gmail.com.
Ok will send and hopefully can import.
Oh yes, found the Spanish. Thanks!
@GoalieDad I have a Mac as well and am unable to locate the legacy lists. If you would not mind, could you email it to me as well at hsanders977@gmail.com? I’d really appreciate the help!
I will later tonight. The legacy Russian name lists have been reported to be error ridden.
Do you still have those lists? If so, could you please email them to [Removed email address] as well? It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
TGoold

If GoalieDad does have those files, he can send you them via a direct message through the forum.
The lists I have are error ridden also. I have better luck just typing into a web search something like “popular French names 1930s”. The lists were hard to find on my Mac and they are xml files in code. I tried to send but don’t know how - this app won’t allow xml files to be added. I think you’ll have better luck just asking a web search engine. Good luck.
