Target Monitor. Settings: ‘Draft Target": nothing ticked. "Session Target’: Count text anywhere in Project ticked.
Add a new document down inside the project for a new scene, but later find that the ‘include in compile’ box in the Inspector is not ticked, and the 800 words I just wrote is not counted in the Target for the day.
When I then tick the ‘include in compile’ box, it still doesn’t get added to the compile. Am I mixing apples and oranges here ? It’s confusing.
You had “Count text anywhere…” enabled before noticing the checkbox? Because with that option enabled, the Include checkbox should actually have no impact on whether the text you type is counted, it always will be.
At any rate, if your settings were such that the typing wasn’t counted, flipping a checkbox later on will not modify the session counter (I assume that’s what you meant by “doesn’t get added to the compile”). That only counts your typing activity, not document changes such as flipping a checkbox, moving an item from Research to Draft, duplicating, trashing and so forth—none of that is typing. If you make a mistake like that, you can copy and paste the text into a side document to get the counter back up, and then discard it once you’re done for the session.
