New features: Multiple projects, bookmarks

Sorry I am not sure whether this is the right place (big forums get confusing at times …).

I am often working on a number of projects at a time, say a novel, a factbook and maybe an article.
These would be different Scrivener projects.

Now, instead of using the “Recent Projects” menu, I would like to add them to a “current favourites” list, like the easy-to-use favourite list in jEdit (and no, the Finder items menu of OS X is not a suitable solution). So I could easily switch between projects or even open a set of projects without having to jump to the Finder/Explorer.

As far as I know, such a feature is not included in Scrivener yet.

Another thing are bookmarks. Though there is a bookmark feature implemented, what I mean would be an invisible bookmark, or anchor, to be placed easily into any place in the text. A menu listing all such bookmarks would be a great relief for navigation; many bookmarked places are not so important to split the document, yet they are to remember a certain point n the story (in a fast include-discard again-way).

We have a dedicated “Wish List” forum.

There are currently no plans for a project manager, sorry. Scrivener 2.0 has a bookmarks system, though, although not quite invisible. Annotations (with just an asterisk in them) can be used as bookmarks that will be listed in a menu (and annotations get removed from the final draft anyway of course).

Best,
Keith

I don’t know if you will count it suitable, but for your current favorites, you could just drag a folder of project aliases to your Dock. That way your favs are always two clicks from wherever you are Change out the aliases as your favorites change.
