I’ve written two previous projects in Scrivener which, after each day’s session was done, dutifully saved themselves to a Dropbox folder called Scrivener Backups. The folder and backups are still there. When I started a new project today, I wanted to make sure its backups are going to the same place. They’re not. Instead, to: /Users/sandrawhite/Library/Application Support/Scrivener/Backups. Plus the file names are getting a suffix, bak. When I try to change the destination folder in Project Settings via the Choose button, I get a version of finder whose Dropbox link links only to a single folder called Contents. One cannot copy and paste the correct destination folder address in Project Settings. Apple Support could not tell me why the iteration of Finder via this path won’t click to my entire Dropbox. Is there a workaround or will I need to seek help from Dropbox?
It’s either a Dropbox issue or a Mac OS issue. All Scrivener does is invoke the standard Mac file chooser tool.
A thing to check would be whether you can browse to the desired folder using Finder.
