Newbie Question: Restoring the delivered project templates

Apologies if this it the wrong place to post this, or if it has already been answered (I was unable to find). I am new to Scrivener and seemed to have unintentionally saved a bunch of changes to the delivered project templates.

  1. Is there an easy way to restore these?
  2. Is there something I can do to avoid doing this in the future?
I am in the process of saving my own templates for experimenting in hopes that is the best way to proceed.
    Many thanks

Hi,

I’m not quite sure what you mean here, since you cannot change the built-in project templates. You can make copies of them and save your own templates from them, but you cannot alter the originals.

If you Ctrl-click on a project template in the New Project templates window, you can tell whether a template is build in by whether or not “Delete Selected Template” is available. If it’s not, then the template is built-in. So perhaps you just need to delete any copies of the templates you have made?

If that doesn’t help, could you perhaps post a screenshot showing what you mean?

All the best,
Keith
