I wish that a non-compiling prefix field existed for document titles in the binder. It would be so nice to be able to lay out an hierarchical numeric outline (etc 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, etc.) in the binder, but exclude it from the compile. I’m not asking for anything auto-generated, just an area to place custom indicators ignored by compile. Does this make sense? k
You can do that now. Simply uncheck the “Title” box in the File -> Compile -> Formatting pane, and place the title in the body of the document.

I’ll have to think about that. Thanks! k
I use title prefixes to aid in converting headings after compile. If compiling of title is deselected, do the prefixes drop from the compile too? I assume that they do. Thx, k
No, they do not. For example, if you want your chapters to have numbers but not names, you accomplish that by putting Chapter <$n> in the title prefix, but unselecting the title itself.
(Note that if you’re putting the title in the body of the document, there could be some formatting irregularities if you use a title prefix.)

The persistence of the prefix field even when the title is turned off is fantastic! That will help a lot. Thanks! k
