Number of

Sorry if this is a really simple question, but I can’t seem to figure it out myself.

Is there a way to know how many writing files are in the Binder? Without counting them yourself?

Hi,

There are a few ways to do this. You can turn on “Show subdocument counts in binder” in the Appearance tab of the Preferences, which will give you the count for each container file in the binder (counting all its subdocuments and their subdocuments). This won’t show all the items in the entire project, but if I read your right you’re really looking for the number of documents in the Draft, and this will show you that at a glance.

If you really want to know how many items are in your binder entirely, you can click in the binder and use Cmd-9 to expand all, Cmd-A to select all, and then show that in the outliner or corkboard–the item count will be displayed in the footer. Since this just counts the number of items displayed, you can use this for just arbitrary selections as well, where the subdocument count in the binder might not be what you want.

This is perfect! Thanks!
