Old license expired maybe?

Hello everyone, hope 2025 has treated you well and that 2026 is even better.

I originally purchased Scrivener in 2010 and after I figured out how to access it again on my MacBook, all my projects were missing. I think I was using OneDrive, when I originally started with Scrivener, so maybe I have to reinstall that on my computer to put the moving pieces together? Any tips?

If you suspect that your projects are stored there, yes, either installing OneDrive or just checking online first (Microsoft OneDrive) sounds like a good idea.

There’s no connection between the storage location of your projects and your Scrivener license, no need to investigate that route.

Thanks NS!

(And I realize it was Dropbox, that I used, not Onedrive – it’s been a while).

Great, could you recover all of your projects?

Not yet, if I remember correctly, once I added the IOS edition to my phone, it splintered some of my files and showed a bunch of corrupted ones. I’m going to back up the files on my phone before I try to sync anything on my laptop.

I’m not sure if this is your original (2010) computer, but if it is, or a new one set up using imported Time Machine backups of your old one, also try:

Scrivener → Preferences… → Backup → [Open backup folder…]
