Im barely going to write my first film script on the old version of this software. Should I upgrade right now or just keep this version? I can not afford the Version 3 of this software.
What version do you have, and with which version of Mac OS?
We still support old versions, but Scrivener 2 won’t run under Mac OS Catalina or newer.
I have [version 3.5.2]. I did not update it after I bought it. My mac run on [MACOS 26.5.1]. This is my first time writing on this software since my usual writing software is google doc. I just want to use a software which I can write my film or Tv scripts professionally so I can pitch it to a producer, production company, media company, or [distribution/ production] company [Indie or Mainstream].
I don’t understand. Version 3.5.2 is the latest version.

I forgot what day I bought it and what year. It is 2026.
You have the latest version, and any 3.x update will be free for you.
If you haven’t already, I’d recommend taking a look at our Interactive Tutorial, available from the Help menu. It’s a good overview of Scrivener’s fundamental operations.
