On iPad, can you change metadata underlying <$ProjectTitle>?

On iPad, is it possible to change the metadata that generates <$projecttitle>? Note, I know how to change the project names of my Scrivener projects on iOS. The issue for me is changing the project title that was set on the compile screen for the project on my Mac. Can this be done on iPad or only from desktop Scrivener?

Thank you.

There is no access to desktop compile settings at all, including this field. The placeholder itself doesn’t do anything in the iOS compiler, I’m pretty sure (I double-checked it in both content and the header/footer fields), so given that, it wouldn’t make sense to have a field for it anyway, as the only time it will become relevant again is when you’re in a place where it can be changed.

Understood. The relevance assessment is not helpful, though. I’m editing my project on my iPad and, ideally, I would be able to perform all my planned editing tasks while in one this one place, rather than have to make a note for myself to address it in a subsequent editing session. That’s a little inefficient, and this is the relevance calculus for me.

I’m not making this a complaint. Just explaining why this could be relevant to someone even if she or he isn’t compiling on the iPad.

Thanks for your help. I will keep doing my current practice.

To put it another way, the concept of having user interface that does nothing for the software you are using at the moment is a little strange. That is the point of relevance I was making, not that it is or is not relevant to you, but that in the overall concept of good software design, it would be misleading and confusing to have settings that have zero impact on anything you can possibly do.

You might try using the name of the Draft folder as your working title. That’s an intentional capability, and would suffice as a reminder on its own, without having to jot down a separate note.

Touché, @AmberV, on the relevance issue. (It doesn’t have zero impact, of course, but I take your point.)

Great idea re re-naming the Draft folder. That is an elegant solution that does not require any kind of debate on the question of relevant software additions.

Thank you for your help.
