I’ve been working in Scrivener. I had been saving to OneDrive, or so I thought. However the latest versions in Onedrive state May, and the last I worked on this project was in August.
I hadn’t noticed as despite whatever was happening in OneDrive, the latest versions were opening in Scrivener until this morning, when I ran an update and they vanished.
Please can anyone help, is there versioning of some sort in Scrivener?
There’s an option on the File menu … Show Application Support Folder, which will take you to the location. One of the folders is Backup. Check in there. You’ll also be able to tell where your files actually are because the menu option invokes File Explorer.
Scrivener auto-reverts there when cloud services fall over for whatever reason—well, I’ve had it happen that way. So…
I addition to sage advice from @RevoTiLlor and @GoalieDad, make sure that you’ve set your OneDrive sync settings for the Scrivener folders to be offline, or “always keep on this device”, or whatever nomenclature Microsoft uses. This required for Scrivener and to not have that leads to the symptoms you see.
