I would love to get away from typing on a white page. I find it very hard on the eyes. I would love to change it to light grey. In normal edit more. Is this possible ? (not a colour to appear when the document is eventually rendered to the eBook)
Have you tried Scrivener > Preferences > Appearance: Customizable Colors: Editor > Page Background, and clicking on the colour swatch on the right to bring up a colour ‘well’ where you can select the colour you want (the Manual explains this)?
I promise I do check the manual a lot. I may be slow but I do a lot of software app work and am pretty used to manuals.
I did find Scrivener > Preferences > Appearance: Customisable Colours: Editor > Page Background, and clicking on the colour swatch …
But I can’t get it to work. I attach a screen shot. I chose this colour only because it was so different, to check if I can get it to work. Maybe it only works for new docs ? I checked in normal and in compose mode.
That refers to the background area behind Page View. It is “Text Background” that you want, if you’re looking for a way to set the editor background colour to something other than white.
I know I know … I should have just clicked on texture background and tested it … I somehow thought it was some kind of text enhancement … maybe drop shadow etc.
