I set up my document with a page size of 8.5” x 14” and I have notes spread over all the pages. Then after I save my changes and come back the next day, the page size has changed back to 8.5” x 11”. Is there a way to make it remember that I always want legal size for this document?
I have tested it and I can partially confirm. [Windows]
Upon reopening a project, yes, indeed, the setting for the page was back to letter.
But only in the dialog box. The grid was still set to legal. (I had created a note and had placed it in the corner of the grid with a legal setting. Upon reopening the project, the grid still lined up.)
So, I think you could only change it back to legal when you want to print. Otherwise once set you may simply ingnore it.
I just double-checked again, and the page guides/grid as well as the dialog box all change back to letter-sized after I quit the program then reopen the document.
btw, I’m on a MacMini M1 2020 Sonoma 14.5 and have the latest version of Scapple.
Thanks for the report. It appears to in fact be reverting to your global system setting’s / print setting’s default paper size. For me it always reverts to A4 after reloading the project.
It looks like both versions have problems though. I’ll get them documented.
I have the same problem with setting of landscape / portrait. The system doesn’t seem to save the page setting setup as part of the Scapple document. I would assume most people have a specific page setup for each document and don’t want to change to another page setup for the same document
The way it should work, and the way it will work in the next round of updates for both platforms, is that each .scap file will be created from the system default paper size. If you change it, then it will save and not change, even if you copy your work between platforms.
