Paste Not Showing...

Hi All!

I’m a bit of a noob here but after lightly searching the posts I can find no reference to my dilemma.

After "Copy"ing text from another program… "Paste"ing resulted in a blank page…

Although hovering my cursor over the leftmost menu bar the text would appear in a yellow box!

I have found no way to see and edit the text in the workspace…

Any helpful thoughts?

Hal

There are several things we can check for here. The first is knowing that Scrivener by default pastes in text with any style information intact. Thus, in some cases, if you copied the text from a web browser (for example) in which the text was white, you may actually be correctly pasting text into the document, but it is invisible because it is white! A good way to check for that is to place your cursor in the document and press Cmd-A to select all. If this is what happened, try using Shift-Opt-Cmd-V to paste in the future. That will strip all external formatting.

Another thing that might be happening is that you are accidentally pasting the text into the synopsis instead of the text field. Did you paste the text into the index card originally? This would explain why it is showing up in the tool-tip, but not the text area.
