PDF Options missing

Hello! I believe I found yet another bug.

On Scrivener for Mac, when you create a new compile format and choose PDF as a format, you get a PDF options pane. On Windows, this is missing.

Any ideas?

PS: I own a Mac, but poor thing is dying so I can’t provide a screenshot.

As I recall, all of the options found within that section were not possible to implement in the Qt programming environment (at least not without major effort). To wit, it can’t even create internal cross-reference hyperlinks at all, let alone change the colour of them, which is what most of those settings pertained to.

So it’s an ommited feature?

Yes, you could put it that way. Here is the thread on internal links in PDFs.

Note that the Windows user manual is 770 pages long, against the Mac’s 920. There is a lot that you could put as omitted; most for lack of time, some here and there for technical limitations (like the above)—but all going toward the previous comment I made about it being impossible to give any estimates on fixes.

It’s alright! Probably best to use a DOCX to PDF (directly from Word) workflow, then.

I was just confused since my first forays with Scrivener were on Mac.
