Presets no longer reliably work

Hi!

I’m running Scrivener on OSX 10.5.8. After the latest patch, it seems that the Presets feature is no longer working as it used to.

  1. Paste some text in using Ctrl + Option + Shift + V.
  2. Formatting > Apply Preset > pick a preset that I’ve set up myself
  3. Nothing happens.

I can sometimes change to system-default presets, and sometimes can’t. But once a format is set, it seems to stay set…

(and as I was trying to document this, I changed a style and Scrivener crashed. First time that’s happened in a few months of using it…)

Addendum:

One style in particular - “Text under H3”, which should just move the text to the right a half inch, actually inserts a comment!

Formatting > Apply Preset > “Text Under H3”:

Text is underlined, comment inserted.

Second Addendum:

Redefining the styles works, and they work afterward. So it’s not the end of the world, I can work around it without too much effort. But you should still probably know it happened :slight_smile:

Have you already redefined all the styles? I was going to ask you to send me the styles file for testing, but if you’ve already updated all the styles and they’re now working, there’s no point as I won’t see anything. :slight_smile:

It’s odd - sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. Happy to send you the file. Just give me an address and let me know where to find it.
