Yep, there’s always a trade off. In this case, it’s easily solved by putting the proper names into System Preferences>Text. Maybe a bit of a pain but doesn’t take too long.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Good solution.
My settings are virtually the same as yours. I am on a M1 MBP Monterey v12.5.1 using American English (there’s an oxymoron for you!) And the standard Apple English dictionary. When I type olonoff’s sentence, no capitalization occurs to the word ‘asked’.
So if on a Mac, it should be easy to replicate that behavior using those settings. Windows might be a whole different thing.
So when I type, I don’t have that problem. But if I use speech to text it does capitalize.
