Problems With History Export

When exporting writing history to a CSV file, some lines have three values on them, some four. My spreadsheet app doesn’t like that.

I’m not sure what those numbers are (4?) and the last two lines are problematic.

HTH.

Presumably, in your history list, the 1000s are followed by a comma, so, as you are using "comma separated values, Excel or whatever reads them as a separate column. I’ve never used it, but can you set the export and the spreadsheet to use a semicolon or other glyph as a separator?

That might be a bug with the CSV export routine – if the field value has the separator character (the comma) in it, the field is supposed to be quoted so the importing software knows to pass that comma through as part of the value.

No way to do that that I’ve found.

Then, the only workaround I can suggest is to go down all the rows in the .csv file using Textedit and in each row where the word count is more than 1000, enclose the number in plain quotes, save it and then try opening it in Excel.
