Someone had the same issue, too, and I don’t think it’s related to WINE. This person used Scrivener with WINE all through the beta. viewtopic.php?f=33&t=16066&start=0
For control purposes, I registered mine with no issues. (Same with my SO’s computer.)
We’re working with eSellerate on this, so offline activation should be enabled soon and hopefully they’ll also be able to resolve issues with the internal eSellerate errors that some of you are experiencing. Thanks for your patience as we sort this out.
I wouldn’t recommend that, as you’re liable to end up locked out entirely. You can continue using the trial for the 30 day period without activation, and we should have a resolution to the issue before that ends.
Hey folks who’re having problems. You need the 2008 C++ redistributable installed. What happens if you install the 2005 one, as well?
Reason being: I had to reinstall my WINE directory tonight, and I spaced on installing that package. I tried to register, and it didn’t work. I installed it, and it did. (Without it, when I tried to register, the program crashed.)
For those still having issues, have you upgraded to 1.0.3 and tried the offline activation from there? This may let you work around the errors that are coming trying to activate in 1.0.2 and earlier. If there are still issues could you let me know if it’s the same error or a different one you’re receiving?
Hi, New to this forum although have been trying Scrivener and loved it so much bought registration today. I tried to activate Scrivener on my laptop but got the ‘Could not connect to network’ message which is weird because I’m online now. Now trying to get an activation key for the Scrivener installed on my (no internet) PC on which I do most of my writing. Can anyone provide help or advice? Much appreciated.
Okay, I tried deactivating to see if I could register again, since I was also having the no active internet connection bug. I got an error that the activation key was missing, but it’s not letting me register again, nor am I getting a trial popup. Didn’t really deactivate?
Quick update. Got activation code and it worked for the Scrivener on my internet-connected laptop. Didn’t work for my non-internet-connected PC and all I get is an activation code not valid. This was despite following steps advised by David at sellerate.net. Very puzzled.
