It would be nice if the search results, as displayed in the binder, could indicate how may hits each document contains.
Thinking about it, I can see how displaying that info could get a bit messy for the “All Words” and “Any Words” operators.
That aside, some indication of the density of hits for each doc would be especially helpful with longer docs, where matching criteria could be located several screen-scrolls below the one that gets highlighted when the doc is initially opened, and where, currently, the only way to determine this is to scroll through, or to duplicate the search using the regular search on the currently opened doc or docs.
Search results, and navigating within them, are slated for enhancement on both Mac and PC, and something like this could maybe fit into the tentative designs we have for that. I’ll add a “hit #” indicator to the list of ideas. That could indeed be useful, but accuracy might be difficult with non-text returns, such as PDF.
