Hmmm, now can I stop Project Statistics from showing only 23 words. There’s about 50k words in fact.
Under Options I’ve selected Count all documents and subdocuments.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Since you weren’t specific about which Statistics tab you are pulling the numbers from -
My guess is that you’re looking at the Compiled tab, but your documents are not within the Draft folder.
(In some templates the Draft folder is called Manuscript, but could be renamed to anything. You can differentiate the Draft folder by right-clicking on it. If Move to Trash is grayed out for a folder, than it’s either the Draft folder or the Research folder. )
If this is the case, the fix is to move the documents you want counted within the Draft folder.
